Poppy reserve opening for wildflowers

Pinheiro Interpretive Center at the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve will be open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on weekends and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on weekdays. Guided tours will be offered twice daily on weekends, and on request on weekdays. The interpretive center’s closing date will be determined later in the season. The reserve is open year round from sunrise to sunset with eight miles of trails through the rolling hills, and a serene picnic area. New attractions at the Interpretive Center this year include live reptiles courtesy of Reptile Rescue, and visits by characters from Antelope Valley’s past.
