Charities in West Yorkshire could use this opportunity to recognise and reward a male volunteer. The deadline for entries 20 September 2004. Model Nell McAndrew is fronting a competition being run by national volunteering charity TimeBank and the Yorkshire Evening Post to search for West Yorkshire’s best male volunteers, modern day heroes who are “Yorkshire Champions”.The regional competition aims to recognise these commendable men and to inspire more men to volunteer. Throughout September, the campaign will be asking people to nominate men in West Yorkshire who make a real difference by volunteering their own time for the benefit of others. The winner will be given £500 and four runners-up will each be given £200 to donate to their cause.
