Jonny Bairstow to leave IPL 2019 for England World Cup camp after April 23

first_imgSunrisers Hyderabad opener Jonny Bairstow on Saturday confirmed that he will be leaving the Indian Premier League on April 23 to join England’s World Cup camp later this month.Bairstow will play two more games for the Sunrisers with the final being the away game against the defending champions Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram stadium on April 23. After that he will head back home to prepare for the 2019 Cricket World Cup with the rest of the England ODI squad.All the English players featuring in the ongoing IPL are expected to head back around the same time as Bairstow, give or take a few days.Bairstow’s absence will be a big blow for the Sunrisers with the opener having scored 365 runs in 8 games so far at an average of 52.14, including a hundred and a fifty, in his debut IPL season for the Hyderabad-based franchise.
