MDP panel to discuss strategic alliances MDP panel to discuss strategic alliancesThe Special Commission on Multidisciplinary Practice and Ancillary Business is having a public meeting to discuss draft rules on strategic alliances.The meeting will be from at 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday May 7, at the law office of Steel Hector & Davis, 200 South Biscayne Blvd., Suite 4100, Miami. Several lawyers have been invited to speak to the commission, and other Bar members are invited to listen or address the panel. The commission is seeking to clarify how lawyers can enter into these arrangements while avoiding financial entanglements of prohibited MDPs, preserving the lawyer’s independent judgment, and protecting clients.
